A message from the club president The Coastal Connecticut Cornell Club has had another outstanding year. We continue to grow by leaps and bounds as we meet the desires and expectations of our members and area alumni. Last year we had two goals: grow our membership to 75 and develop a website. Both goals have been met. Our membership at the end of July was 99 – and still counting. By February of this year, with the help of Cornell, we had our website up and running and we continue to refine it as we move forward. If you haven’t stopped in to visit us on the web, let me recommend you do so at the first chance you get. The site can be accessed at: http://coastalct.alumni.cornell.edu . If you have digital photos of Connecticut scenes that you feel would enhance the site, please forward them to me at mstacks@aol.com .
Our social events continue to draw large turnouts and this year Bryan Rivard, our Event Vice President, is expanding the venue to attract even more alumni participation. Naturally we will include Zinck’s, several sporting events, social hours for the new grads as well as the old timers, winter pastimes, and the Cornell Federation Speaker dinner, plus many more events. If you have an idea that you feel will interest others, let Bryan know at bhr6@cornell.edu .
Included with this newsletter is a membership form to make joining the CCCC as easy as 1-2-3. While the dues are minimal, the rewards for connecting with other area Cornellians are priceless. Hopefully, you will pick up your pen, complete the form and forward it to Thomas Horn at thomashorn46@gmail.com. If you know of other Cornellians living in, or close to, our area, let them know of the Club so they can participate. Myron Stacks, ’58 ![]() |
